Butterfly release ceremony held at CCEEC

Compassionate Care Hospice recently held a butterfly release ceremony at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center in Summit Hill.

The event, held on June 25, gave people a chance to release a butterfly in memory of a loved one or friend who passed away."At compassionate care we don't envision hospice as a final chapter of a person's life but rather the transformation into what we believe is new life," said CCH liaison Dan Miller."It is our commitment to those we care for to not only prepare them for what lies ahead and keep them comfortable during their transition but to also watch over and care for their loved ones who mourn their physical loss but also celebrate their freedom and new life. We hope this ceremony and the words of our staff might bring those in attendance to a place of contentment and freedom."According to Miller, 61 people attended the event and 100 butterflies were released."We had music, speaking and then refreshments after the ceremony," he said. "It went extremely well."
