Walker Township's board of supervisors on Thursday unanimously agreed to advertise for bids several of its roads for base replacement.

That would include Valley Road, from Blythe Township to Pebble Lane ($28,000); Valley Road, from Tamaqua Borough to Wildcat Road ($31,500); and Catawissa Road, from Bridge Lane to the township line ($21,000), for a total cost of $81,500, as all three would be bid together as one.Supervisors may also consider base replacement for Shady Lane ($13,300), which as of now is optional.The township would use money from its liquid fuels and general fund accounts, according to Supervisor Craig Wagner.Wagner said supervisors hope to conduct the bid opening when the board meets at 7:30 p.m. May 5.The work would then be done during the summer.Other actionAlso on Thursday, supervisors:• Agreed to apply for reimbursement for the winter storm Jonas.• Adopted a resolution with regard to conduct during meetings.
