Man is arrested for Megan's Law violation after asking about warrant

A Schuylkill County man was jailed recently for violating Megan's Law registration requirement.

State police at Frackville reported that Casey Joseph McKlveen, 22, who lists a Shenandoah residence, was apprehended by Nesquehoning police on March 10 when he approached an officer and inquired if he had a warrant for his arrest. Police verified he was wanted and took him into custody.He was turned over to troopers and arraigned before on-call District Judge James K. Reiley of Pottsville on the warrant charging him with failure to register as a sexual offender as required through a New York state rape conviction, which falls under the provisions of Megan's Law.Reiley set bail at $20,000 straight cash. McKlveen was unable to post the bail and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
