A new series of GriefShare support sessions begins March 16 in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Broad St. The 13 weeks of sessions are biblically based and nondenominational, designed to help those suffering the loss of a loved one.GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.The level of participation is entirely up to each person, and you don't have to attend all 13 sessions. Groups are designed so that you can begin attending on any week and meet with others in a similar situation.Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. There is a fee for optional materials.For more information, or to register, call 570-668-2520. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session.Ruthann Feane provided the invocation "There's Some of God in Everyone." Nancy Gerber, Joan Wall and Rosetta Folk were added to the sick list. Dues for 2016 are now being accepted.Members are reminded to bring brown bag lunches during the winter months.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. The fourth Saturday of the month, the service includes communion and is followed by a times of food and fellowship.Calvary UMThe Rev. Ed Bean will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley.
