A new series of GriefShare support sessions begins March 16 in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, 223 E. Broad St. The 13 weeks of sessions are biblically based and nondenominational, designed to help those suffering the loss of a loved one.GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.The level of participation is entirely up to each person, and you don't have to attend all 13 sessions. Groups are designed so that you can begin attending on any week and meet with others in a similar situation.Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. There is a fee for optional materials.For more information, or to register, call 570-668-2520. President Melody Weicker conducted the business session.Ruthann Feane provided the invocation "There's Some of God in Everyone." Nancy Gerber, Joan Wall and Rosetta Folk were added to the sick list. Dues for 2016 are now being accepted.Members are reminded to bring brown bag lunches during the winter months.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St.The meeting will include the celebration of members' January and February birthdays.The group is open to anyone 55 or older and the YMCA is handicap accessible.Bucket list booksThe Bucket List Book Club meets the first Wednesday of each month at the Tamaqua Community Art Center to discuss must-read books.The selection for March is "The Joy Luck Club," by Amy Tan.The art center is located at 125 Pine St.TEPTOThe Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6:30

Meetings are held in the school library.Zion LutheranZion Lutheran Church holds evening services every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. The service is more relaxed than the traditional Sunday service. The fourth Saturday of the month, the service includes communion and is followed by a times of food and fellowship.Calvary UMThe Rev. Ed Bean will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Calvary United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, a Bible study session on the Book of Daniel will be held at 6:30 p.m.A family movie night will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday.The March 2 midweek Lenten service will be held at 7:15 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, on Route 895 in Drehersville.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley. Sunday school classes at 9:15 a.m.Bible study sessions are held at 12:30 p.m. Thursdays.Volunteers are needed this Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., to set up for the candy making session.Bible studyVictory in the World Ministries is conducting a Christian Outreach Ministry through a series of Bible study fellowship sessions on Wednesdays at the Tamaqua YMCA.
