Carbon woman threatens man with knife

A Nesquehoning woman is in trouble for violating a protection-from-abuse order by clambering back into her house through a window, according to Nesquehoning police.

Anne Albert, 51, was charged with violating the order. She was arraigned before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford and jailed under $2,000 straight cash bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by patrolman Richard A. Neikam, here's what happened:On Jan. 2, Neikam was called to 136 W. Railroad St. for a report of an "out-of-control" woman. The man who called the Carbon County 911 center, Wayne Boger, said she had come at him with a knife and then threatened to kill herself.Neikam had previous contacts with both Boger and Albert.Boger described the knife as being about a foot long with a black handle. He said Albert stopped 2 or 3 feet away from him, holding the knife above her head as if she was ready to stab him.She then turned and said she was going to kill herself if he didn't tell her he loved her.Albert put the knife back in the drawer before police arrived, Boger told Neikam.Albert denied that any of that had happened. She told Neikam that she and Boger were arguing, and that he refused to tell her he loved her.Boger told Neikam that Albert had been placed in a mental health facility in the past, and that she had mental health issues.Albert continued to deny the knife incident and said Boger had called 911 because the two were arguing.Neikam wrote that Albert was "all over the place," calm at one point and then yelling the next.Albert told him she never wanted to harm herself, but that she was bipolar and that her medications weren't working.Neikam told Boger to contact a crisis center while he talked with Albert. She was taken by ambulance to Blue Mountain Health System's Gnaden Huetten campus mental health unit for evaluation.Later, Neikam spoke with Boger, who told him Albert was being admitted. He said he did want police to pursue charges against her, and that he planned to obtain a protection-from-abuse order against her on Jan. 4.Boger gave Neikam a written statement describing the events of that day.Police charged Albert with simple assault and harassment. On Jan. 11, Boger reported that Albert had climbed into the house through a kitchen window. She was taken into custody and arraigned before Kosciolek.
