Zion Opera Workshop, Carbon County's longest running theater group, will be holding open auditions for their 2016 production on Saturday.

This year's show is Thoroughly Modern Millie, and offers many opportunities for speaking, singing and dancing roles. Anyone ninth grade and older is eligible for auditions.The times for the auditions are 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. Auditions are in the downstairs dining room of Zion UCC, Second and Iron streets, Lehighton.Participants will be asked to read a part, and then will be given a song to sing for the character they are interested in.This show calls for a large ensemble. Anyone who is interested in the play will be admitted to the cast. The auditions are for particular roles, but all who attend will be welcomed into the cast. They are seeking many male and female lead and supporting players.Practices for the show are held on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, with practices for particular scenes taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.The dates for this year's shows are March 3, March 4 and March 5.
