MILLER BLOOD DRIVE RESULTS

The Nov. 9 Palmerton community blood drive drew 59 registrants and yielded 62 units, including 13 on the Trima machines, where one donor can get credit for two or three units. This drive was sponsored by the Horsehead Community Development Fund.The following reached various gallon levels: Brian Wanamker, 7 gallons; Mary Eckhart, 5 gallons; Shirley Kuntz, 4 gallons; George Elliston, 3 gallons; the Rev. Martin Nuscher, 2 gallons. There were two first-time donors.A large number of volunteers are needed to conduct a blood drive, with many of them working "behind the scenes." These included Pam Andrews, George Ashman, Mary Beth Beers, Romaine Biege, Harry Brown, Jane Cervenak, Gail and Ron Chabak, "Honey" Cyr, Arlene Dombrosky, Thomasine Falcone, Linda Finley, Jean Fritzinger, Shirley Green, Beverly Hargreaves, "Bif" Hayes, Cindy Heimbach, Marian Hoffner, Bernice Kleintop, Nancy Kresge, Paula Lendvay, Helen Nonnemaker, Darlene Nothstein, Susan Olivia, Carol Papay, Evelyn Plechavy, Marge Porambo, Gwen Rodrigues, Terri Sebelin, Susan Steigerwalt, Mary Taschler, Tara Wargo and Brenda Wentz.The next Miller Palmerton community blood drive will be on Jan. 5.
