Class breakfast

Members of the Jim Thorpe High School classes of 1967 and 1969 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Monday at the Boulevard Restaurant, Lehighton. All classmates and their spouses are invited to attend.Scouting for FoodThe annual Scouting for Food campaign has begun. Information was distributed throughout the community this past weekend. The Scouts will return this Saturday for food items. They will begin at 8 a.m. Please have your items in bags on your porches, along with the tag that you received. Nonperishable foods only and no glass jars or expired foods. If you have any questions or you were missed on the collection date, please call 610-264-8551.Toys for TotsRegistration dates for the 2105 Toys for Tots Campaign have been set. Registration will be held on Nov. 20 and 21, Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Fredrick's Grove Road, Lehighton. This is the only location for registration and no phone calls will be accepted.To ensure that a family is eligible there must be a letter from your church, proof of public assistance or proof of unemployment. Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register children. The person registering the children must have ID for themselves and legal guardians must have proof of guardianship. You must have a current, local resident, photo ID to prove your Carbon County residency. For each child to being registered, a birth certificate is required. The age limit is 14 years, handicapped children 16 years. Please specify the disability.A drop off box will be located at 22 E. Sixth St., Jim Thorpe, or you may call Ed, 570-325-2408.
