Vehicle strikes two homes in Mahoning, driver flees scene

On 3 a.m. today Mahoning Township police responded to 1060 Upper Nis Hollow Drive for a vehicle into a house.

While an officer was responding, dispatch received information that the vehicle fled the scene.Moments later dispatchers received a second call from 160 Upper Nis Hollow Drive.  The resident there reported a vehicle had struck their house.When the officer arrived at the second residence, the vehicle fled the driveway, traveling into the path of the marked police car.  The officer swerved off the driveway to avoid being struck by the vehicle.  The officer then began to follow the vehicle with lights, and siren activated.  The vehicle failed to stop and continued onto Dieters Hill Road where it drove into a field.  The driver fled on foot and eluded capture. The vehicle had additional damages not related to the impact with the two homes.  

At the first home the vehicle struck a garage door, and then drove around the yard of the home before fleeing.At the second home the vehicle struck an exterior wall.  The driver then entered the homeowner’s car before getting back into his vehicle and fleeing.  Police are attempting to locate the owner of the vehicle, Jonathan Stefanick, 29, of Summit Hill.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Mahoning Township Police at
