Woman's clubThe Nesquehoning Woman's Club will hold its Christmas dinner at Macaluso's at the Lantern at 7 p.m. Dec. 7. Please contact Jane Pietruch with your reservation if you plan to attend.At the November meeting the group heard a presentation by Nesquehoning Historical Society President Tim Sverduk. He invited everyone to the town's Christmas tree lighting in December.The club will once again donate gloves to the students in need at the Panther Valley Elementary School. All donations are appreciated.LansfordGolden AgersAt the Oct. 26 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers, members celebrated Halloween with a pizza party. Many members were dressed in Halloween costumes.Hospitality for the months of November and December are Sue Dopira and Dee Neifert.The next meeting will be Monday at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall beginning at 1 p.m. The last day to sign up for the annual Christmas Party on Nov. 22 at DiMaggio's Dolce Vita will be Monday.Street closedThe south side of the 100 block of East Abbott Street in Lansford will be closed to traffic as of Monday.The street will be closed due to necessary repairs to St. Katharine Drexel Church, 124 E.
