A West Penn Township woman has been charged with attempting to drown her one-month old infant.

Rachel Minerva Foose was arraigned Friday afternoon before a judge in Schuylkill County.

Police said that Foose admitted to attempting to drown the child in a bath tub at her home Friday morning, while the child's father purchased formula at the store.

Foose apparently had a change of heart at some point and stopped the attempt. But she still admitted what she had done to the father, and later police.

She was booked Friday afternoon and sent to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
