JT boys soccer team qualifies for districts

Jim Thorpe's boys soccer team got the winit needed to qualify for the District 11 2A tournament.

SchuylkillLuke Morris scored four times as the Olympians rolled to a 9-2 win over the Spartans in a Schuylkill League Division I boys' soccer contest.The win ended Jim Thorpe's regular season at 9-8-1 overall and 6-6 in league play.Cody Geiser added two goals for the Olympians. Chris Williams, Ryder Wallace and Austin Carilo also added goals for the winners.Shane Meckes, Todd Stelling, Jadyn Anczarski, Cam Condly and Jorge Macareno added assists.M.S. FOOTBALLLehighton-Panther Vy.Lehighton blanked Panther Valley, 26-0.The Indians (4-3) got a pair of special team scores as Isaiah Wetzel returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and Ben Schatz returned a blocked punt 28 yards for a TD.It was also a big game for the Lehighton defense as Kyle Mayernik had a 57-yard interception return for a score, Austin Fritzinger had two sacks, Brandon Ramirez had a fumble recovery, and Cam Leight intercepted a pass.The Indians' lone offensive touchdown came when Devon Haydt caught a 90-yard pass from Lucas Sangiuliano.M.S.
