Tamaqua personnel matters approved

Tamaqua Area School Board on Tuesday approved several personnel matters.

On a unanimous vote, the board approved Anthony Cheehan as a teacher at Master's Step 3, salary of $46,620.In an unrelated matter, the board approved the resignation of Scott Delenick, high school teacher, effective at a date agreed upon with the superintendent.The board also approved:• Steven K. Behr as substitute coordinator, at a salary of $4,064.• The resignation of Barbara Acker as secretary, on a date mutually agreed upon with the superintendent.• The resignation of Maryann Kopp as a full-time custodian, effective Oct. 15.• Kathleen Mansell as a professional substitute teacher.• Removed John Kosura from the professional substitute teacher list.• Denise Baddick as a long-term secretarial substitute for the 2015-16 school year.• Holly Koscak as a substitute health room assistant.• Acker as an addition to the substitute secretary list.• Kopp as an addition to the substitute custodian list.• Rescinded the motion from the Aug. 18 board meeting approving Aaron Dotson as a substitute paraprofessional.• Rescinded the motion from the Sept. 15 board meeting approving removing Denise Bodman from the substitute paraprofessional list.• Rescinded the motion from the Sept. 15 board meeting approving Susan Coombe as a part-time paraprofessional.• Dianna Keich, as a part-time paraprofessional.• Melissa Rodriguez as a part-time paraprofessional.• Jody Bachert, special education teacher, as a mentor for Amanda Gallagher, social worker, at a stipend of $600.• Approved Oct. 9, 12 and 13, as unpaid days for Nancy Hludzik, middle school teacher.• Agreed to participate in the E-rate program for the 2016-17 funding year. This program allows the district to access Internet, telecommunications, and web-hosting services at discounts of about 56 percent of the actual cost.• Portnoff Law Associates as the district's delinquent real estate tax collector for unpaid taxes from the 2015 collection cycle.• Powell, Rodgers, and Speaks as the district's delinquent assessed occupation and per capita tax collector for unpaid taxes from the 2015 collection cycle.• A one-year contract with St. Jerome Regional School at $2 per lunch, effective through June 30, 2016.
