A Tamaqua man, wanted by Rush Township police, picked the wrong time and place to park on May 30.
Tamaqua police were dispatched to the 300 block of Penn Street at 5:06 p.m. for two men reportedly passed out in a silver vehicle.On scene an officer found Anthony Napolitano, 30, of 411 E. Broad St., in the driver's seat. There were two passengers in the car, which was parked in such a way that it was half on and half off the street, with the hazard lights flashing.A routine records check discovered an active warrant for Napolitano's arrest, issued by township police. He was placed in the rear seat of a police cruiser.One of the passengers was identified as Natalie Ohl, 20, of 427 Willing St., Tamaqua. She consented to having her purse searched where officers found one glassine baggie. She provided police with a blue bag that belonged to Napolitano. Inside the bag were several syringes and a scale. Officers then searched the vehicle.In an empty Pringles container in the center console they found 62 empty glassine baggies labeled Jcull Candy. One Lyrica and five methadone pills were found in the driver's side door handle.Inside the suspect's shoes they found 12 more methadone pills and a bag filled with a powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine.Ohl was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Township police transported Napolitano to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on the outstanding warrant. Tamaqua police charged him with possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
