Larry Tout, director of transportation for the Jim Thorpe Area School District, proposed a two-tier busing system that would save the district $300,000.

Tout said by using all 23 district buses on a two-tier system the district could eliminate the need for its two transportation contracts.Under the system, the high school would start at 7:30 a.m. and the elementary school would start at 8:30 a.m.Superintendent Keith Boyer called for a committee meeting to look into Tout's proposal.
