More snow on the way tonight

Accumulating snow is expected again tonight into Thursday.

The National Weather Service says there's a potential for 3 to 7 inches tonight into thursday.

Periods of rain are forecast for today, then the rain should change to snow this evening.

The snow is anticipated to continue into Thursday.

Here's the forecast:

Today: Rain showers likely before 5pm, then rain showers and sleet likely. Cloudy, with a high near 39. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no sleet accumulation expected.

Tonight: Sleet before 9pm, then snow. Low around 20. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow, mainly before 1pm. Temperature falling to around 17 by 5pm. Northwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 3. Wind chill values as low as -9. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 24. Northwest wind around 7 mph becoming west in the afternoon.
