A Weatherly man admitted striking a young child during a domestic incident on Tuesday before Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Hank William Weaver, 25, of Mountain Top, and formerly of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of simple assault with another count dropped in a plea bargain.Weaver was arrested by Weatherly police on April 29, 2013, when officers responded to 950 Norman St., for a domestic dispute involving Weaver, his wife and her son, a 9-year-old male.Weaver admitted slapping the child in the face, causing injuries. He was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders but was revoked from it.Matika sentenced him to time served (37 days) to one year in jail and ordered he render 50 hours of community service.
