Three defendants in pending driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas Tuesday in Carbon County court before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Francis Xavier Franklin Jr., 52, of Bensalem, Bucks County, was arrested on Aug. 3, 2014, along Route 903 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed 0.14 BAC.A first offense, Franklin was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, render 25 hours of community service, pay court costs of about $1,500, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.Jacob Alan Stauffer, 22, of Lehighton, was arrested on July 12, 2014, in the area of 568 West Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township by state police at Lehighton. A test showed 0.17 BAC.Charles A. Matusick, 58, of Weatherly, was arrested on Sept. 4, 2014, along West Main Street by Weatherly police. A test showed 0.14 BAC.Sentencing was deferred so Stauffer and Matusick could both obtain a comprehensive D&A evaluation.
