Daniel J. Blazosky of Lansford has announced he will seek the Democratic nomination for the office Carbon County coroner in the May 19 primary election.

A lifelong resident of Carbon County and the Panther Valley area, he and his wife, the former Meghan Crampsie, and their 4-year-old daughter Danika, reside in Lansford. The candidate is a graduate of Panther Valley High School who received a B.S. in business management from Monmouth University and then went on to receive an associate degree of applied science of funeral service education from Northampton Community College. After passing the state and national board examinations, Blazosky became a licensed funeral director. Blazosky Funeral Home in Nesquehoning, and he also works with several funeral directors throughout the Carbon County.Blazosky believes his education and working experience in business management and funeral service would be a great asset in the administration of the Carbon County Coroner's Office. He understands as a coroner his responsibilities are to identify the deceased and determine the cause and manner of death. His ability to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the funeral home and face-to-face interaction with family members of the deceased has prepared him to handle any type of coroner investigations that are sudden, unattended, or of a violent or suspicious nature, with dignity and respect toward those involved.Blazosky enjoys working with the youth, serving as a past assistant football coach for Northern Lehigh High School and a current volunteer assistant coach for Panther Valley High School. The candidate serves on the patient safety committee at St. Luke Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale, and is active in the Nesquehoning community as a member of the fire company, Sokol Club and Conservation Club.Blazosky is a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Lansford.
