Scouts attend council meeting

Two members of Boy Scout Troop 232 in West Hazleton attended Thursday night's Jim Thorpe Borough Council meeting.

Ryan Kelly, Marian High School junior, and Joey Genetti, Weatherly High School junior, are working toward achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.Both scouts were at the meeting to satisfy requirements for their Citizenship in the Community badge.Kelly and Genetti said they picked Jim Thorpe because they were interested in seeing what is going on in the county seat.As for their Eagle Scout projects, both said they hope to do work in a community park in the Hazleton or Packer Township area.Councilwoman Joanne Klitsch thanked the duo for their attendance, noting that "they're both hard-working guys who have jobs and are on the honor roll."
