A quick response by firefighters from Slatington and Walnutport kept flames from spreading and damage to a minimum Saturday night.

The fire was first reported near 7 p.m. at 1325 Pin Oak Lane in Slatington.

Firemen determined the fire to be located in and near the chimney of the single family wood frame dwelling.

Firefighters were on scene for about an hour in the sub freezing temperatures. No injuries were reported.
