Paul Corinchock, Tamaqua, welcomes 25 attendees to Thursday's Pysanky workshop at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center. The eight-session seminar, ending April 2, will teach the art of hand-decorated Ukrainian Easter eggs. Co-instructor Georgine Postupack Borchick of McAdoo told the group Pysanky has pagan origins, dating back to pre-Christian days when people honored a sun god. Some of Borchick's more elaborately decorated eggs are on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
