Times News has 39 motor routes

The Times News circulation area includes a far-reaching rural geography that requires extensive use of motor routes.

"Nancy's Lech's motor route is a very difficult one to do, especially in winter weather," said Colleen Rudelitsch, motor route supervisor.Lech was first at the scene of a crash last week that injured two.Rudelitsch oversees motor route deliveries as well as the store/vending bundle drivers, functions coordinated by Kathy Carpenter, circulation manager.In total, there are 26 motor route drivers who deliver newspapers to 39 different routes.The motor route coverage area spans five counties: Lehigh, Carbon, Monroe, Northampton and Schuylkill.Some drivers clock at least 80 miles a day to deliver in their areas, such as Lech.Farthest motor route coverage areas include rural locations of Saylorsburg, New Tripoli, Quakake and Albrightsville.The total Times News circulation averages more than 14,000 copies a day.This figure includes all subscribers, stores and vending machines.Motor route circulation alone is 5,620 per day.
