The Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce has a new slate of officers for its 2015 executive board. The officers are President Rich Shupp, Vice President Ben Turano, Treasurer Linda Marchalk and Secretary Ann Ostergaard.

Shupp owns Cloud Service Center LLC, a computer services/integrated cloud company. Turano is a realtor with Charlotte Solt Company, and also the coordinator of Tamaqua's Green Dot initiative. Marchalk is a partner in Gary Marchalk Law Offices and Northeast Pennsylvania Abstract. Ostergaard and her husband, Leonard, who is a supervisor for Walker Township, own and run Heisler's Dairy Bar. Ostergaard is a new member of the chamber.Chamber Executive Director Linda Yulanavage recapped Tuesday's breakfast meeting, which was an overview of Tamaqua's CRIZ program. The chamber sponsored the event, which was held at the Tamaqua Salvation Army. Yulanavage said thatmore than 75 people attended.Dates were set for two annual chamber events. The yearly Chamber Dinner will be held April 22, and Sen. Pat Brown will be the speaker. Organizers are still considering various venues. The annual Golf Tournament at Mountain Valley Golf Course will be held Sept. 9.
