Franklin Township Supervisors reorganize

It will be status quo when it comes to the leadership in Franklin Township for 2015.

The board of supervisors reorganized Monday afternoon with Rod Green unanimously re-elected as chairman and Paul Kocher as vice chairman.Robin Cressley remains the third supervisor.All township employees were retained for 2015. Wages and the laborer's rate were set at a 3 percent increase from last year.Other appointments Monday included Brenda Neeb, township secretary, treasurer and open records officer; Christine Green, assistant secretary and treasurer; William Schwab, solicitor; Jenny Cheng, zoning hearing board solicitor; Carl Faust, zoning officer, property maintenance code enforcement officer and uniform construction code officer; Sean Corey and Scott Bieber, sewage enforcement officers; ARRO Consulting Inc., township engineer for sewage; Carbon Engineering, township engineer for general purposes; Larry Diehl, emergency management coordinator; Charles Fritz, vacancy board member; Paul Kocher, planning commission member for a five-year term; Frederick Bresswein, zoning hearing board member for a three-year term; Thomas Beltz, police chief; Robert Maholick, municipal authority member for a five-year term; Rod Green, representative of the Carbon County Solid Waste Advisory committee; Dennis Bauchspies, canal commission representative; and Robin Cressley, road master and foreman.Kenneth Cahill will fill the unexpired term of Vince Gilotti on the zoning hearing board until it expires in 2016.Angela Stehle will fill Cahill's spot as an alternate on the zoning hearing board until 2017.Buckno Lisicky and Co. will audit all township accounts for 2014.Supervisors also approved using Jim Thorpe National Bank and Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust for its checking and savings accounts, set a $500,000 limit for the treasurer's bond and police pension plan bond.Township meetings will continue to be held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. with the exception of April, when supervisors will meet on April 14.The Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club will meet at the township office on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
