A Schuylkill Township crash between a compact car and student-transport van shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday sent two adults and two children to area hospitals with minor injuries. The vehicles collided on dry roads at the intersection of US209 and Catawissa Road in Tuscarora, drawing emergency response units from Penn Mahoning, Tuscarora, Tamaqua, Ryan Township and Lehighton. The teenage driver of the car, a Dodge Neon, appeared to be uninjured. Occupants of the school van complained of back and neck pain, said paramedics at the scene, indicating that the injuries didn't appear to be life threatening. DONALD R. SERFASS/TIMES NEWS
