St. Mark's Episcopal Church will hold its free community dinner on Sunday, Sept. 22. The meal of pork and sauerkraut will be served from 4-6 p.m. For more information call (570) 325-2241.Borough council vacancyThere is vacancy on the Jim Thorpe Borough Council. If you would like to become a part of the council, a letter of interest must be sent to the borough office. The deadline for the letters to be received is Sept. 27. Bible studyThe Women's ecumenical Bible study will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the Good Shepherd room of the church. Joan DeAcetis is the leader of the group, which is studying the Gospel of Mark. All women of the community are invited to attend. The group meets twice a month at the church.
