The Schuylkill County Volunteer Firefighters Association held its 45th annual parade in Tamaqua, a borough celebrating its 200th anniversary.

The festivities resulted in a parade that ranks with any ever staged in the community. Tamaqua was founded when Murkhardt Moser first settled there in 1799.The Firefighters Parade was the highlight of a Stay At Home Labor Day Weekend honoring Tamaqua's bicentennial.
