A Tamaqua man was one of five defendants who had their freedom revoked by Schuylkill County judges after hearings held in the county court and were re-sentenced as follows:

Derek Anthony Shellhammer, 36, of 307 Arlington St., had his parole revoked by Judge Charles M. Miller and he was recommitted to the county prison to serve the balance of his sentence.Miller ruled he could be immediately re-paroled upon written confirmation from Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program in Harrisburg of his acceptance into its program and if accepted Shellhammer is ordered to attend and successfully complete the program as a condition of his parole.Meanwhile he was committed to the prison and his maximum date for release was extended to March 17, 2017. Shellhammer entered guilty pleas in November 2011 to theft of a vehicle, being involved in a hit and run accident, and driving under combined influence of drug and alcohol. He had been placed in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for a period of five years.Frank David Vannicolo, 23, Minersville, had his participation in the IPP revoked by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin and he was re-sentenced on charges of criminal conspiracy, theft of firearms from a private home, and criminal trespass to serve 18 months to four years in a state correctional facility and submit to drug and alcohol evaluation. He had pleaded guilty in May 2012 and was placed in IPP.Brent William Herb, 26, Pottsville, had his probation revoked by Dolbin and he was re-sentenced on a charge of corruption of a minor to serve four to 23 months in the county prison and is recommended for immediate work release. He also received credit for serving 76 days in prison. Herb pleaded guilty in March 2011 to charges of corruption and indecent assault and drew three years probation.Frank John D'Agostino III, Shenandoah, had his parole revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin and he was committed to the county prison to serve the balance of his sentence with 282 days of liberty disallowed and a new maximum date for release from prison set at May 29, 2014. He pleaded guilty in December 2011 to selling drugs in West Mahanoy Township and after serving a prison sentence was released on parole.Ernest Allen Rosemond, 35, Hagerstown, Md., had his probation revoked by Judge Miller and he was re-sentenced to serve four to 12 months in the county prison with credit for serving 77 days. He pleaded guilty in May 2009 to an assault charge in Pottsville and was placed on probation.
