A community bike rodeo was sponsored by Cub Scout Pack 145 of Lehighton in conjunction with the Lehighton Police Department. Approximately 160 area youth between the grades of kindergarten and sixth converged on the parking lot at Shull-David Elementary for the three-hour event. A brief inspection of all bikes took place. Sign-in and course sheets were filled out by each entrant before they began working the course. The course had six stations at which the child was tested for control and knowledge of good safety habits.
