Members of Blue Mountain Fish and Game in Walnutport and volunteers from the First Baptist Church in Allentown held its 16th annual "Day at the Lake" event on Saturday,

Organizations, such as Dream Come True, Special Olympics, and Life Path and Center for Vision Loss were invited, along with their parents, siblings, caregivers and teachers to enjoy a day of fishing, activities, music, food and fun.The lake was stocked with 500 trout to ensure each attendee receives their three-limit catch.For 8 1/2-year-old twins Benjamin and Elija Imler (Elija was participating through Dream Come True) and their young brother Riley, that's a lot of trout. The entire family was kept busy through most of the afternoon reeling in the bounty. Their mother, Sharona Wieand, helped them bait their hooks and their father, Robert Imler arrived after coming off work to enjoy the luncheon with his family.Maxine Gruver of Life Path was all smiles as she watched the event taking place with pole in hand.Not only do the participants have a great day of fishing, they are also given a complimentary luncheon and were also entertained by bagpipes and boombas. There was also free face-painting.Although it's a lot of work to pull an event like this together, Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, members of the organizations were all smiles, as they handed out poles, treats and food. Dennis Kressley and Bruce Benninger, were busy as they cleaned and filleted the caught fish. They have been doing so for as many years as the event has been taking place.
