A storm-related state of emergency was declared in Lansford by Mayor Dr. John Polumbo until 1 p.m. today. All vehicles, mobile and disabled, were ordered removed from the business district by the police. The storm left up to eight inches of snow in the Panther Valley area, just two days after a previous storm dumped about six inches. Kidder Township got over a foot of new snow, after snow accompanied by 50 miles-per-hour winds happened two days ago, causing massive power outages.
