Two area men were among eight who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes.

Thomas Salvatore Ruzzano, 42, of 231 N. Pine St., Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by deception by cashing a check belonging to Joseph Thomas, Tamaqua, and was placed on probation for 23 months. He was also ordered to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), and make restitution of $225 to the victim. He was cited by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods, last Aug. 29.Ruzzano also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia when he lived in Pottsville in June 2010. He was placed in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) probation program on Sept. 22, 2011, for the drug charges but it was revoked in November 2011. He pleaded guilty to the charges and was placed on probation for 12 months on the each of the two drug charges with the sentence to run concurrent with the theft charge.Justin Anthony Jacobacci, 30, of 304 Hatchery Road, Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy - retail theft, and receiving stolen property from Walmart Store in Rush Township, and was given credit for serving 57 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 23 months, and ordered to pay $50 to the CJEA, $50 to the district attorney's office for cost of a bench warrant issued to bring him to court after he failed to honor a court appearance, and make restitution of $748.10 to Walmart for a television set. He was cited by Patrolman Corey Herring.Miguel DeJesus Rodriguez, 24, of 200 W. Madison Avenue, West Hazleton, pleaded guilty to credit card fraud and was sentenced to serve 23 months probation, pay $50 to CJEA and make restitution of $1,022.50 to Cargill Meat Solutions, Green Mountain Road, East Union Township. He was cited by Trooper Timothy Keating in July 2011,whose report shows he used the card to make illegal purchases in Hazleton and Tannersville.Earl Samuel Siders III, 32, Minersville, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a cell phone from his home and was sentenced one to 12 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin at 9 a.m on Tuesday Feb. 19.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia must serve an additional 12 months on probation, and pay $50 to the CJEA. He also must make restitution of $415 to the Bethlehem Regional Lab for tests and perform 24 hours of community service. Siders was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers.William A. Wallace, 22, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to criminal attempt to commit criminal trespass on Bower's Motorcycle Supplies Store, New Philadelphia, and was placed on probation for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA, perform 20 hours community service, and make restitution of $25 to the victim. Wallace was cited by Trooper John D. Powis.Shawna Francine Lenker, 19, Schuylkill Haven, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass on property at 1265 W. Center St., Boston Run, Mahanoy Township, and was given credit for serving 127 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months. She was cited by Mahanoy City Sgt. Shannon Tietsworth.Lenker also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and was given a concurrent sentence of 12 months on probation on each charge. She also must pay $100 to CJEA. She was cited by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman Kenneth A. Jacoby.Scott C. Hoy, 56, Muir, Porter Township, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and was ordered to serve 30 days in the county prison beginning Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 9 a.m., followed by four years and 11 months on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP), with the first 90 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 fee, followed by 30 days wearing a electronic bracelet and pay a $12 daily fee, followed by seven months of strict probation and four years probation. Hoy also was fined $1,500, pay $100 to the Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fee, $100 to the Catastrophe fund, complete the alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment, driver's license suspended 18 months, and for the first 12 months after license is restored must install an ignition interlock on his vehicle. On a summary charge of disregarding a traffic lane was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Hoy was cited by Trooper Alyssa Becker when stopped on Church Street in Porter Township.Maureen Louise Holly, 49, Pottsville, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring for 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $30 to Pottsville Police Drug Task Force, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Lab.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
