While he won't be on the gridiron in shoulder pads and helmets, Bryan Kershner will be on the road running his heart out on Super Bowl Sunday.

On Feb. 3, a day in which two of the National Football League's finest will battle for supremacy, Kershner will run in a 10K race in Allentown with the Lehigh Valley Road Runners.Kershner, who serves as director of IT for Pencor Services, Inc. in Palmerton, said he's chosen to run the race on Super Bowl Sunday to support HCM, a foundation that gives to those and their families who have or had cancer."The races seem to be so popular," Kershner said. "It's a good way to raise money for a great cause."Kershner, of New Tripoli, said he and his wife, Jennifer, are members of the Lehigh Valley Road Runners."My family and I run a bunch of races in the Run Lehigh Valley Series," he said. "Along with my wife and I, my son, Sean, who is 6, and daughter, Katelyn, 8, run the 5ks with us."Kershner said he turned into an avid runner about two years ago "mainly to do it to lose some weight.""After I got hooked on it, it's become a passion to run," he said.
