State police at Lehighton reported on a two vehicle crash that occurred about 2:33 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the intersection of Church Road at Beers Lane, in Towamensing Twonship, Carbon County.

Troopers said Tonya M. Dunlap, 34, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Venture southbound on Church while Joseph R. Concilio, 73, of Palmerton, was driving a 2003 Saturn Vue eastbound on Beers. At the intersection Concilio attempted to turn left onto Church with Dunlap's vehicle striking Concilio's vehicle.

Both vehicles came to rest in a cornfield off Church Road. Dunlap was injured and taken by Palmerton ambulance to the Palmerton Hospital. Concilio was not injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Concilio for a stop sign violation.

Troopers also investigated a crash at 7:05 a.m. Sept. 30 along SR560 in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Michael J. Skrzypek, 30, of Mount Bethel, was driving a truck westbound when he lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid a passenger car in his lane of travel, he told troopers. The truck went onto the north shoulder and struck a retaining wall, then came to rest partially blocking the westbound lane.

Skrzypek sustained a minor injury but did not require medical attention, troopers said.
