Pet Parade

The Western Pocono Community Library held its first Pet Parade. It had 19 entries and all but one were dogs in various breeds and sizes. Some received prizes. From left, Patti Weiss and Golden Retriever Reilly, 3, standing in for the photo for his Golden Retriever brother, Rudy, 11, who won Best Behaved Pet, (owner Tom Batista); Sheila Leach with her 9 1/2-month-old Collie, Albert, Best In Show; Joe Antoniato and his Golden Retriever James, 5, Best Dressed Pet; Michelle Altemose and her son are showing off Black Lab Bear, 2 1/2, Biggest Pet; Karissa Hnatowicz and her dad are with Luna, 1, Shih Tzu, Cutest Pet; Zachary Weiss with his grandmother's Jack Russell Terrier, Missy, 12, Smallest Pet; Bonnie Kraeutler with Termite, 13, a Leopard Tortoise, who won Most Interesting Pet. "I am very pleased with how the parade turned out. The weather held off for us, the pets all behaved themselves, and all the participants had a great time showing off their four legged friends. Look for a Fall Pet Parade," said Weiss.
