Trinity happenings

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will hold seventh Sunday of Easter worship featuring music from the Trinity Praise Band, starting at 9 a.m. The Rev. Guy Grube will preside. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday School Power Hour meets at 10:15 a.m. Special activities are planned for ages 3 through grade 12 as this will be the final session before the summer break begins.

On Pentecost Sunday, May 19, six young people will receive the Rite of Confirmation during the 9 a.m. worship service.

The U.S. Mail Carriers Food Drive is Saturday, May 11. Donated food items will benefit the recipients who receive help at the Trinity Food Pantry.

The Northeastern PA. Synod Bike for World Hunger will take place at the Bob Rodale Fitness and Cycling Park, west of Mosser Road, Trexlertown, May 18. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the event begins at 9 a.m. and ends by 1 p.m. Contact the church office at (610) 377-4303 for a sponsor sheet to benefit the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) World Hunger Appeal. Participants are welcome to ride and/or pledge.

Applications for scholarships for 2013 Nursing and Higher Education are available in the church office. Graduating seniors from Lehighton Area High School (applicants from other Carbon County school will be considered) may apply. Office hours are Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon, and 12:30-4:30 p.m. Application deadline is June 1.

Community Vacation Bible School is being planned for June 16-20 from 6:30-8:30 p.m., for youngsters ages 3 to grade six. The theme will be "Everywhere Fun Fair. Where God's World Comes Together." Call the church office to register children in advance.
