Fire Co. will dedicate aerial

Nesquehoning Hose Company No. 1 will dedicate its new aerial truck during a program at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the fire station.

A parade, beginning at 2 p.m. starting at the Nesquehoning VFW Post, will precede the dedication.The new truck is a KME, 103-foot Aerial Cat rear mount ladder truck. The manufacture of the truck occurred at the KME Plant in Nesquehoning, about a mile from the fire station.The new truck has a 475 horse power International engine and five-speed automatic transmission.It has a six-man cab equipped with multiple hand tools, gas detectors, thermal imaging camera and large search bag.It also has a 2,000 gpm Hale pump and holds 300 gallons of water.The main speaker at the dedication will be Donald Leshko, Hazleton's fire chief. Leshko started in the fire service at age 14 with the McAdoo Fire Company. He is certified as a fire investigator, firefighter instructor and Emergency Medical Technician.
