Coaldale police charged a Tamaqua man after an incident on June 23.

Travis Boerner, 28, of 34 Nescopec St., Apt 1, faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Joseph Krebs, here's what happened:

Krebs was dispatched to Third and Lehigh streets at 7:26 p.m. on a report of a male who was unconscious and turning blue in the face.

When he arrived he saw a blue Chevrolet Cobalt by a gate over a speed bump on Lehigh Street. A white male was on the ground, half out of the vehicle. His face was turning blue.

Emergency medical crews arrived at the same time, and Krebs helped them with the man.

Coaldale Chief Timothy Delaney also arrived and gave Krebs drug paraphernalia that had been found in plain view in the man's vehicle. Police also found an orange syringe on the ground, about five feet away from the man, identified as Boerner.

Boerner was taken into St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, for treatment.
