Cleaning lady steals jewelry

Pocono Mountain Regional Police have reported the arrest of Brianna R. Hill, 20, of Bushkill, on charges of theft and receiving stolen property stemming from the theft of jewelry from a home in Tobyhanna Township in which the accused was a cleaning lady.

Hill was arraigned on the felony charges and committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville.

Police said they were called to Camp Owaissa Court in the township at 4 p.m. Dec. 25 for a report of a theft. Police said the complainants told them a cleaning company had been at their home the prior day, after which time they discovered jewelry valued at over $20,000 was missing.

Police said further investigation revealed the jewelry had been sold the same night at a local jewelry store by Hill, who was one of the cleaning company workers. Police said Hill was interviewed and confessed to stealing the jewelry and selling it.
