Breaking and entering

Published December 18. 2013 05:00PM

A McAdoo man was incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, after a reported breaking and entering incident on Sunday.

Police were dispatched to 418 E. Blaine St. at 4:50 a.m. after a woman reported someone had broken into her home. When officers arrived, they found Peter Ramsay, 28, of 110 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, inside the home. Initially, Ramsay refused to cooperate with officers, but then went to the ground, where he was handcuffed. Patrolman Steven Homanko noticed a strong odor of alcohol emanating from Ramsay.

The homeowner told police she did not know Ramsay and had no idea why he was in her home. Ramsay was also unable to provide a reason for his being there. Forcible entry was made through the front door.

The defendant was arraigned on charges of criminal trespass, loitering and prowling at night, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Bail was set at $15,000. Unable to post the straight cash bond, he was lodged in the county prison.
