Three area men were sent to a state prison by President Judge William E. Baldwin after entering guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court.

Gilberto Luis Rodriguez, 34, of 262 Arlington St., Tamaqua, on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tamaqua, was sentenced to serve three to six years in a state correctional institution.On three counts of delivery of a controlled substance he received concurring 18 to 36 months sentences. He also must pay $400 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $100 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund and make restitution of $515 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Rodriquez was cited by Tamaqua police.Tysheed Laron Hargrove, Tamaqua, currently homeless, on a charge of carrying a firearm without a license, was sentenced to serve one to two years in a state correctional facility with credit for serving 283 days in the county prison. He must also pay $50 to CJEA fund. He was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Robert Minnick, and the weapon was discovered in the car and was found to be stolen.Robert John Rex, 18, of 39 Angel Drive, New Ringgold, on two counts of aggravated assault, was sentenced to serve 24 to 48 months in a state correctional facility. On a charge of fleeing police must serve an additional 12 months on probation, pay $50 to CJEA fund and make restitution of $500 to West Penn Township for damages to police car.He was cited by West Penn Patrolman Melissa M. Boyer, last June 13 when stopped on Summer Valley Road.He also pleaded guilty to charges brought by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods, on June 13, and received concurring sentences of one to 23 months on a charge of conspiracy and pay a fine of $200; and on a charge of theft, serve two to three months confinement, pay a fine of $200, and make restitution of $5,180 to State Farm Insurance Company.Others sentencedRichard M. Bonney, 34, of 1409 S. Camper St., Hazle Township, three counts of retail theft from Walmart Store, Hometown, was given a prison sentence.On one count he was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison; on a second count he must serve 12 months probation beginning at the expiration of his first sentence; and on the third count to serve three to 12 months in the county prison to run concurrent with the first sentence.Bonney also pleaded guilty to two counts of driving while his operating privileges were suspended. On the first count he was fined $200 plus $50 costs and on the second count fined $1,000, plus $50 costs and serve three to six months in the county prison with this sentence also to run concurrent. He also must pay $100 to the CJEA fund, and make restitution to Walmart of $1,234. Bonney was cited by Rush Township police.Bradley Scott Donton, 29, Blue Mountain Road, North Manheim Township, on two counts of simple assault on Corrine Renee Kelly, Pine Grove, last July 13 and 17, was given credit for serving 102 days and released on parole for 17 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. On a charge of criminal mischief by damaging the porch door on her home was fined $20.Donton also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol on July 13 when stopped in Pine Grove and was sentenced to serve a consecutive 48 hours to six months in the county prison, fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safe driving school and receive outpatient counseling, perform 10 hours community service, successfully complete Batters Program, and his driver's license is suspended 12 months. He was cited by Troopers Peter Mohn and Mark Baron.Sherise Morrison, 30, Pottsville, simple assault on Bonnie Schilling, Pottsville, serve three to six months in the county prison with credit for serving 215 days, pay $50 to CJEA fund. She was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Kirk A. Becker.Leonard D. Peiffer, 58, Pine Grove, simple assault, given credit for serving 118 days in county prison and was released on parole for 23 months, fined $100, pay $50 to CJEA fund, and complete Anger Management Program. On a second charge of resisting arrest received a concurrent 12 months probation sentence. Peiffer was cited by Trooper Michael Keating.Jessica Ann Rudy, 26, Pottsville, failure to deliver a drug free urine sample to probation officer, was placed on probation for 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Rudy was cited by Pottsville Cpl. Francis T. Lynagh.Vadim Sergeyevich Polyakov, 36, who was arrested by Trooper Jeffrey A. Hummel at a motel in North Manheim Township, on a charge of criminal mischief to motel room, was given credit for serving in the county prison from June14 to the present, and was released on probation for 12 months and shall make restitution of $1,050 to Country Squire Motel, Route 61. On a charge of disorderly conduct was fined $25.Eric Robert Schappell, 27, Pottsville, hindering apprehension of a man sought on an arrest warrant, was sentenced to serve two weeks to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to commence Monday, Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. and pay $50 to CJEA fund. Schappell was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Charles B. Webber.Steven Michael Wetzel, 39, Pine Grove, failure to comply with sexual offenders registration was sentenced to served three to six years in a state correctional facility and pay a fine of $300. Wetzel was cited by Trooper Chad Smith.Lawrence Donald Cooney, 49, Pottsville, two counts of theft, serve nine to 23 months in the county prison, pay $100 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $90.95 to Jason Bivans for theft of wallet; and $90 to Allen Maurer for theft of his jacket from a fast food store in Pottsville. Cooney was cited by Pottsville police.Ted M. Vanderkarr, 40, Towanda, pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault, endangering welfare of a child, and corruptions of minors.Sentence was deferred to a later date as the court ordered a pre-sentence investigative report prepared by the adult probation department. During this period Vanderkarr must submit to an evaluation by the state's sexual offenders assessment board. He was cited by Kline Township Chief John Petrilla.Each defendant sentenced must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
