The Bethlehem Area Moravian Trombone Choir, founded in 1754, is the country's oldest still-functioning instrumental music ensemble. The choir, comprised of Moravian College student music majors and music department faculty members, will be the special musical guest at the Second Annual Tamaqua Community Advent Breakfast on Dec. 8.

Directed and conducted by Don Kemmerer, the trombone choir specializes in playing selections of Moravian music from the past and present.The Advent Breakfast, hosted again by Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, is sponsored by the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce, the Tamaqua Area Partnership and the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network (TAFFN).TAFFN is an organization of lay leaders from Tamaqua congregations formed to promote understanding and cooperation among all groups doing God's work in the community.In addition to seasonal music, the program features breakfast by the Zion Culinary Crew, an Advent message by the Rev. James Cavallero of the First United Methodist Church and a candlelighting ceremony.Tamaqua's Advent Breakfast is modeled after the same event in Bethlehem, Pa., which observes its 46th anniversary this year.A limited number of tickets are available through TAFFN members, many church offices and the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce office at 114 West Broad St. in Tamaqua.No tickets will be sold at the door.For more information, call (570) 668-4451.
