Mr. and Mrs. Richard R. "Chip" Reed of Lehighton are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were married on Aug. 10, 1952 by the Rev. Kirke Davis at First Presbyterian Church, Lehighton.

Mrs. Reed is the former Joanne E. Schoch, daughter of the late Mildred and Allen Schoch of Lehighton.Mr. Reed is the son of the late Miriam R. and Jabez H. Reed of Weissport. He is the former owner of Reed's Market in Weissport, which closed its doors on Dec. 31, 2010, after 80 years in business.They have two sons, Richard A. and his wife Roseanne of Bethlehem; and Gerald J. Reed of Lehighton. Richard owns Young's Pharmacy in Freemansburg, and Gerald is employed at the Lehighton Recreation Center.They also have two granddaughters, Malinda and Cassandra Reed, both of Bethlehem.
