Five area residents were among 15 who entered guilty pleas to criminal chargers in Schuylkill County court recently and were sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell as follows:

Jesse M. Becker, 25, of 415 N. Railroad St., Apt. 1, Tamaqua, driving under the influence (DUI) of drugs, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, June 29, at 2 p.m., fined $1,000, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SEA) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, $50 to MCARE fund, $60 to Saint Luke's Hospital, enroll in alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 20 hours community service, and undergo random screening. On a charge of driving without a license fined $200 and improper rear lights on car fined $25 plus $50 costs. Becker was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse.Steven R. Marsicano, 44, of 223 N. Lehigh St., Tamaqua, criminal use of communication facility and delivery of a controlled substance (CS) in a supermarket parking lot, sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Wednesday, June 27, at 5 p. m., pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and perform 20 hours of community service. Marsicano was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Anthony Stanell.Christopher Hyland, 43, of 255 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, possession of drug paraphernalia at his home, placed on probation 12 months, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service. Hyland was cited by Patrolman Anthony Stanell.Kerry Lee Freeman, last known address, Coaldale, possession of drug paraphernalia, serve two to 12 months in the county prison beginning Sept. 9 at 9 a.m., pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours of community service, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Freeman was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon.Ernest Joseph Kerester, 50, of 504 E. Patterson St., Lansford, driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, sentenced to serve 48 hours to six months in the county prison beginning Friday, June 29, at 1 p.m., fined $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to MCARE fund, attend safety school, receive outpatient counseling, perform 20 hours of community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On the charge of failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Kerester was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Charles Blesse.Jayne Ellen Bruno, 45, Pottsville, theft of a gaming system and DVDs from the home of Andrew Kemmerer, 268 Brown Street, Tamaqua, was placed on probation for 12 months, which will begin when she completes a 23 months probation sentence she was placed by President Judge William E. Baldwin last January on forgery charges. On the current charge Bruno must pay $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant, perform 20 hours of community service, and make restitution of $1,218 to Kemmerer. Bruno was cited by Patrolman Karl Harig.Patricia Ann Hunter, 52, Hanover Township, retail theft of several items from Walmart Store, Hometown, Rush Township, was sentenced to serve one to 23 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, June 29, at 2 p.m., pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours community service, and make restitution of $325.09 to the store. She also is not allowed in the store. Hunter was cited by Patrolman Corey Herring.Duane James Ingraham Jr., 22, Pottsville, two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, serve one to 23 months in the county prison and on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was sentenced to serve an additional 12 months on probation with the sentence to begin Friday, June 29, at 9 a.m., pay $300 to SAE fund, $150 to CJEA fund, perform 60 hours of community service, make restitution of $50 to Pottsville Police Drug Task Force, and $226 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Ingraham was cited by Pottsville police.Joshua Lee Bubeck, 31, Schuylkill Haven, delivery of a CS, possession with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia at his home, sentenced to serve six to 12 months in the county prison, fined $250, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours community service, make restitution of $176 to Bethlehem Regional Lab, and $200 to Schuylkill County Drug Task Force. He was given credit for serving five days in the county prison.Douglas Anthony Litwhiler, 27, Mahanoy City, pleaded guilty to two motor vehicle code violations, failing to drive at a safe speed and failing to drive on roadway laned for traffic was fined $50 plus $100 costs. A charge of DUI was nolprossed. Litwhiler was cited by Shenandoah Patrolman Christopher G. Zubris.Thomas E. Halye, 37, Branchdale, Branch Township, defiant trespass on vacant property at 150 Sunbury Street to retrieve a satellite dish was fined $50.Ralph Joseph Castellano Jr., 53, Pottsville, driving while his operating privileges were suspended-DUI related, was sentenced to serve 60 days in the county prison beginning Friday, July 13, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $50 to CJEA fund, $50 to district attorney's office for bench warrant, and make restitution of $1,103.44 to John Kramer, 314 W. Railroad St., and $4,018.11 to Sherry Tobias, N. Third St., Pottsville, for damages to their parked cars. Castellano was cited by Patrolman James Englert.Christopher James Fox, 21, Schuylkill Haven, possession with intent to deliver a CS at his home and possession of drug paraphernalia, placed on probation 23 months, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Fox was cited by Patrolman Gregory S. Meisner.Douglas G. Brower, 41, Jonestown, interference with custody of children, given credit for serving 10 days in the county prison and was placed on parole for 23 months, pay $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours of community service, and undergo drug and alcohol evaluation. Brower was cited by Pine Grove Cpl. Christopher Cruz.Tyler J. Hosler, 27, Pottsville, DUI, placed on probation six months, fined $300, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, perform 20 hours of community service, make restitution of $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, and attend safety school. Hosler was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Renee R. Galle.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
