It was quite a shoot-out between Summit Hill and Elizabethtown on Saturday. If only the Breaker Boys hadn't stopped to reload. It proved fatal.

The Mustangs scored 23 straight points at the start of the second half, and went on to eliminate the local squad 73-52 in a Great Eastern Football Association Division Championship Game, played on Summit Hill's Ginder Field.The first half saw the two teams swap scores in a game that was tied three times. E'town had a 35-32 halftime lead.The Breaker Boys, who finished the regular season with a 6-4 record to qualify for the playoffs, started the second half flat and by the time they recovered their groove, the damage was done.BB quarterback Craig Zurn was thrust of the team's offense, completing 11 of 26 passes for 103 yards and rushing 20 times for another 178 yards. He ran for three touchdowns, one of his carries being 30 yards.On the other side, Kyle Bennett, Elizabethtown's 6-1, 240 pound quarterback who came into the game leading the division in passing with 1,338 yards in 10 games, was 13 for 26 for 151 yards. He tossed to seven different receivers during the contest.The Mustangs came into the game with an 8-2 record, including three forfeits.Shawn Nunemacher was the favorite receiver for Zurn, pulling in two TDs. The wide receiver was the division's best in yardage this year, netting 410 coming into the game.Mustangs Coach Darren Winters said the difference in the second half was defense. "Our offense was going the whole time, but our defense finally stopped them," he said.He gave high praise to Zurn, remarking, "Their quarterback was awesome."Coach Scott Reese of the Breaker Boys said his squad failed to execute, especially in the third quarter."In the first half, Zurn was awesome," said Reeser. "He was all over the field."The coach said that in the second half, defensive backs missed some big plays, but "all around we had a great performance."Elizabethtown scored first in the game when running back Harry Wilker capped a 40-yard drive with a four yard run up the middle for a touchdown. A pass from Bennett to Anthony Cruz for the points after made the score 8-0.The Breaker Boys made things even within just 45 seconds, thanks to a 30-yard run by Zurn. The talented quarterback fired to Nunemacher in the end zone for the two-point play.Back and forth the scoring went through the first half, with each team entering the end zone four times.On its first drive in the second half, Zurn drove his team to the Mustang 17. He was then sacked on a fourth down play for a 15 yard loss.When E'town took over, Bennett hit Cordero on a 21 yard play for a score, and then tossed to Chris White for the points after.A botched kickoff return gave Summit Hill the ball on its own six, and after four incomplete passes, the Mustangs took over. This time Bennett fired to Cruz for the six-points.Kyle Anderson recovered a fumble for the Mustangs on the SH six, which set up a touchdown pass from Bennett to Tank Murray.
