Potash hired as manager at art museum

The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley has announced that Chris Potash has been hired as manager of Marketing and Public Relations. He will be responsible for promoting awareness of the museum as a regional resource as well as attracting attention and attendance to its exhibitions and educational programs.

Potash comes to the museum from Viamedia/Vertical Creative Group in Bethlehem, where he conceived and coordinated video- and web-based marketing campaigns for clients such as St. Luke's Health Network and Hunterdon Healthcare System; before that he was a news writer, assignment editor, and producer at BRCTV-13 in Lehighton.Earlier in his career he wrote music criticism for daily newspapers in Miami, Fla., and Wilkes-Barre, and also served as an editor at Grove Press and Random House in New York, Lippincott Inc. in Philadelphia, and Rodale Inc. in Emmaus.He enjoyed coordinating and publicizing Art Walk and the Laurel Festival of the Arts in Jim Thorpe in the early 2000s and has participated in numerous mail art shows and public arts events, such as the 42nd Street Art Project in New York.Potash, a native of Hazleton, resides in Tamaqua.
