A Carbon County man was given a prison term Monday after previously pleading guilty to three criminal counts.

Jody Lee Christman, 44, who said he had no residence and considered to be homeless, was sentenced to serve a total of 11 to one day less 24 months in prison followed by one year probation on the charges.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II sentenced him to the prison term on a charge of criminal trespass adding a year probation for theft. He also sentenced Christman to serve two to one day less 24 months on a charge of unauthorized use of a automobile and one year probation on a charge of defiant trespass. All the terms run concurrent.Christman was arrested for the trespass and theft counts for an incident on June 29, 2011, at the Ukrainian Homestead along Beaver Run Road in Mahoning Township.The unauthorized use occurred on May 25, 2011, in Franklin Township when he took the 1999 Frod van of Tye Poole in the area of the Boat Yard along Canal St. The defiant trespass involved Trainer's Inn along Interchange Road in Franklin Township, and occurred on June 23, 2011. He was told the leave the inn, but returned and was arrested.Christman admitted to a long-term alcohol abuse problem which Nanovic said he had not addressed.Nanovic also ordered Christman to supply a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, zero tolerance imposed on D&A use, have no contact with any of his victims, render 75 hours of community service, and must submit a preparole plan before his relaese which must include a inpatient treatment program.Theft countsMatthew Brungard, 28, of Lehighton, was placed on porbation for 24 months on charges of theft by unlawful taking and theft by deception.Brungard was involved in a controlled drug buy conducted by agents of the state Attorney General's office. Brungard was contacted by a confidential informant (CI) to sell cocaine to him. He took the $600 for the drugs but never delivered the cocaine.Nanovic ordered he get a D&A evaluation and make restitution of $520 to the Commonwealth for the drug deal.He defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and a $50 per month supervision fee.
