Man on bath salts scares drivers

Drivers traveling between Reevesdale and Tuscarora on SR209 this morning before 8 a.m. were surprised to see a young man walking back and forth between traffic.

Many of the drivers became alarmed when the young man tried to get into the vehicles of all cars that slowed down to offer help to him.Schuyllkill County communications received multiple calls about a man trying to get into people's moving vehicles.According to police, the man, identified as Shayne Earle, 30, of MaryD, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Sharon Lazarchick of Tamaqua. While having an argument with Lazarchick, Earle jumped out of the moving vehicle and started walking back and forth on SR209 towards Tamaqua. When police responded, they found that Earle was under the influence of MDPV, also called "bath salts", which is now an illegal drug in Pennsylvania.Responding were Tamaqua Police and Pennsylvania State Police. Earle was taken via State Police to the Pottsville Hospital. State Police are investigating. No serious injuries were noted.
