Long trail of sticky liquid in Tamaqua

ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Tamaqua Police and firefighters responded to a long chemical spill that stretched from Pine Street, through the Family Dollar parking lot, down North Railroad Street and continued through Center Street (SR309) in Tamaqua Wednesday evening. The substance, which appeared dark in color, had a sticky texture. Tamaqua Fire Police closed SR309 while firefighters from American Hose and East End fire companies laid down oil dry sand and cleaned the spill. The origin of the long spill was unknown. Firefighter Jay Hollenbach Jr., American Hose Company, lays oil dry over the long trail of sticky liquid someone leaked throughout the main roads in Tamaqua.
